Detailed itinerary

 

Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

 

From the airport or from your accommodation in Nairobi, your tour driver-guide will pick you up and take you on a scenic journey to Lake Nakuru national park renowned as a home of the flamingos which are attracted to the park by Lake Nakuru by the presence of algae that they feed on among other different bird species creating rewarding bird watching opportunities.

Take on a game drive once you reach the park driving to your accommodation where you will have lunch and later drive out back into the park for another game drive. Overnight in Lake Nakuru.

 

Day 2-3: Maasai Mara National Reserve

 

Exit Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara national reserve with a morning game drive.

Maasai Mara is well known worldwide for the annual wildebeest migration and abundance of wildlife which you will encounter of extensive game drives around the park. Expect to see lion, buffalo, warthog, cheetah, elephant, wildebeest, hyena, zebra and scenic views too.

You can opt for a visit to a Maasai village of hot air balloon trip over the Mara plains.

 

Day 4-5: Serengeti National Park

 

Exit Maasai Mara and cross the Isebania Kenya- Tanzania border into Tanzania to the Serengeti national park, the other home to the annual wildebeest migration. Together they form the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem that supports this great migration year in year out.

Go on different game viewing sessions around the Serengeti for an incredible wilderness experience filled with lots of wildlife sightings including gazelle, elephant, zebra, giraffe, hippo, cheetah, leopard, lion, hyena, jackal, warthog, buffalo, rhino, impala, topi, eland, klipspringer, bush buck and much more. Overnights in Serengeti.

 

Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

 

Early morning, with an exit game drive through the Southern plains of Serengeti, drive to Ngorongoro conservation area.

On reaching Ngorongoro, you will drive to the crater and take a descent to the floor of the crater for game viewing in the stunning caldera. You will look out for the Big 5; rhino, elephant, buffalo, leopards and lion among other animals and bird species. Picnic lunch and ascent to the crater room for more game viewing and beautiful sceneries then drive to your accommodation for a leisure evening. Overnight in Ngorongoro.

 

Day 7: Tarangire National Park

 

From Ngorongoro conservation area, you will head to Tarangire national park, a small but beautiful scenic park, home to huge herds of the African Elephant, one of the biggest populations in Tanzania’s national parks. Take on a game drive to explore Tarangire’s different habitats especially the Tarangire River for great game viewing sessions. Overnight in Tarangire.

 

Day 8-9: Amboseli National Park

 

After a morning game drive in Tarangire national park, we cross back to Kenya via the Namanga Tanzania-Kenya border driving to Amboseli national park, the park with stunning views of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro providing vista picturesque moments while on a game drive in Amboseli’s open plains.

Explore the Amboseli national park to encounter the elephant, lion, gazelle, buffalo, gnu (wildebeest), buffalo, hippo and more. Overnight in Amboseli.

 

Day 10: Nairobi-Flight

 

One last game drive in Amboseli national park. As you drive back to Nairobi. Have lunch once in the city and then be dopped at Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your flight.
