The 4 Days Samburu National Park Safari takes you to Samburu National Park/Reserve, one of Kenya’s most endowed destinations. The 3nights/4-Day wildlife tour allows you to explore Samburu’s special species ranging from Beisa Oryx, cape buffaloes, lions, lesser and greater Kudus, warthogs, grant’s gazelles, leopards, African elephants, waterbucks, Kirk’s dik-dik, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and others.
A total of about 450 species of birds exist within the Samburu National Reserve (SNR), and besides the Somali ostriches, you will also find the black-faced sand grouse, secretary bird, red-eyed dove, gray crowned cranes, palm-nut vulture, scissor-tailed kite, African harrier hawk, Black winged kite, steel-blue whydahs, African golden oriole, Nubian woodpeckers and more.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up at the airport by company representative
Meet your Kenya driver guide at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for pick up and transfer to the hotel for relaxation. If you arrive early, you will have good time in Nairobi visiting some of the nearby tourist sites including the Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe Centre, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and more.
Day 2: To Samburu by car
Depart from Nairobi city for Samburu National Reserve/Park after briefing. It will be a scenic drive in the countryside and once you have reached to Samburu, lunch will be offered at the lodge.
In the afternoon, you will proceed with a game drive and expect to come across lots of elephants, cheetahs, zebras, lions, the Somali ostriches, and other species. When you get back, chill, dine and retire for the night at the lodge.
Day 3: Full day in Samburu – watch the special game species
After breakfast, you will dedicate a full day to explore Samburu National Reserve abundant wildlife including the special species. Samburu holds the Somali Ostriches, Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s zebras, Reticulated giraffes, dik-dik, and long-necked gerenuks.
In addition, your long day wildlife viewing will come with sights of wild dogs, cheetahs, leopards, lions, Oribis, antelopes, and birds -the reserve protects over 450 species of birds including the lesser kestrel, vulturine guinea fowl, and others. You will get back to enjoy a relaxed stay at your safari lodge or camp.
Day 4: Game drive & transfer back to Nairobi
Start your day with an early morning breakfast and after, check out of your accommodation. Enjoy a short game drive as you exit from the reserve to Nairobi. Be dropped off at the hotel or continue to the airport to fly back home.
