Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Pick up from Nairobi and transfer to Samburu National Park.
A professional tourist guide will pick up the guests from the hotel in Nairobi and embark on the 4 hours and 30 minutes’ journey to Samburu National Park with a tourist vehicle. The drive will take the tourists through the various landforms of the country valleys, highlands and cross multiple rivers as you enjoy the views of the country. On arrival in Samburu National Park, you’ll check in at the lodge and be served a mouthwatering local lunch. After lunch, the guests will relax a little in their units at the lodge.
Later in the evening, you will have a tour around the lodge that will help you to view some of the endowments of the park especially the animals that normally visit the vicinity of the lodge ranging from baboons, black and white colobus monkeys and elephants. Dinner will be served later at sunset and you will stay for the night.
Day 2: Game drive in Samburu National Park.
Kick start the day with an early meal at the lodge at dawn. After the morning meal, our tourist guide will lead you into the jungle for an exciting game drive where you’ll have opportunities to view animals ranging from African bush elephants, cape buffaloes, leopards, lions, leopards, jackals, zebras, hyenas, cheetahs and defasa waterbucks. Viewing these animals in the wilderness will be such a memorable moment.
Transfer back to the lodge in the afternoon for a peachy lunch. After lunch, you will again embark on an afternoon game drive through the dry plains for further opportunities to encounter the animals that inhabit the National Park. Enjoy the game drive up to sunset. Drive back to the lodge as you enjoy the views of the sunset with the savanna grasslands and shrubs.
Day 3: Fly to Masai Mara national reserve
Have an early meal at the lodge and later check out after. Embark on the drive to Samburu airstrip. At Samburu airstrip, you will catch a flight the Serena airstrip in Masai Mara national reserve. The flight will provide you with views of the entire wildernesses of Kenya which is quite an enjoyable experience. On arrival in Masai Mara, you will embark on the drive to the lodge with the tourist guide you will meet at the airstrip.
At the lodge, you will be served a delicious lunch. After lunch, have a rest in your rooms at the lodge as you enjoy the ambiance and the serene environment. Have an evening walk at the lodge for opportunities to view some wild animals and also appreciate the views of the grasslands and the far Highlands.
Day 4: Hot air balloon safari, game drive and Masai cultural tour.
Breakfast will be served at dawn at the hotel. After breakfast, guests will embark on the exciting hot air ballooning activity at around 5:00 AM. Here you will have opportunities to view cats as they hunt down their prey since this is the active time. Cats especially lions cheetahs and leopards be out for their hands at this time. Therefore will be viewed from above. Watching the cats as they make their kills is one of the unforgettable experiences one can ever have on a safari. Enjoy the safari up to the mid morning at around 10 AM.
After the hot air ballooning embark on a game drive through the dry plains of Masai Mara. Here you will further have the opportunities to view animals up close. At around midday, transfer back to the lodge for a mouthwatering lunch. After lunch, embark on the drive to the Masai villages. Here you will have a one-on-one interaction with the Masai indigenous people. They explain their way of life and also entertain you in the traditional way. Enjoy the evening with the Masai. Later at sunset transfer back to the lodge for dinner and accommodation for the night.
Day 5: Drive back to Nairobi.
Breakfast will be served at the lodge early in the morning. After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive back to Nairobi which will take you approximately 5 hours and 20 minutes. Arrival in Nairobi will end the trip.
